Meet The Musicians

  • Tyese Andrea Brown

    Originally from East Orange, New Jersey, she has been composing music since she was 6-months old. She would later transfer her tunes to piano at age 6 and begin lessons by age 7 or 8 at the Newark Community School of the Arts. In high school, Tyēse was Student Composer for the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Her piece, “Winds of Yesterday”was featured in an episode of PBS’s Imagines/Images in 1984. With a BA in Music Education (Howard U), MA’s in Composition and Music Therapy (NYU, Montclair St, respectively), she is a music teacher in the Newark Public School District.

  • Hunter Hayes

    A Native of Montclair, is a 7x Emmy Award winning singer, composer and sax player. After receiving a silver C Melody saxophone at 15, he taught himself to play by ear, then started playing at parties with a neighborhood band. He has built a successful career highlighted by many accolades and accomplishments. He started his own music label. His music and performances stream on iTunes, Amazon, Tune Core & YouTube.

  • Denise Hamilton

    Originally from the Bronx, she is a Virginia State University Alum and Montclair, NJ resident who has performed throughout the TriState Area. A retired East Orange Special Education Teacher, Denise has performed for notables such as Hillary Clinton, Former Mayor David Dinkins and others. Known for her sultry powerful voice and innovative singing style, her electrifying performances cover an array of music genres including Jazz, R&B and Contemporary Standards. She has also won numerous awards for her outstanding community service and event planning.

  • Gregory Booker

    He started playing bass while serving in the US Armed Forces in Europe in the late 70’s. He has played locally since 1979 with various bands, and has played with or for Bely Wright, Ray, Goodman & Brown, the Chilites, EU, Plain English Band, bluesman Son Seals, the Kopistitics, to name a few.

  • Chris DeCarmine

    Original from Rockaway, NY, he began playing drums in high school then joined the New York State Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. Known as “The Drum Clinician,” he rose to become a local legend. Recalling the origins of his musical career, DeCarmine says he was always surrounded by musicians and music.

  • Steven Pitman

    originally from Virginia, he is a talented and accomplished Electric Guitarist who currently teaches Music at Weequahic High in Newark. He recently performed with Grammy Award Winning Bass Guitarist, Victor Wooten for students at Weequahic High where legendary bassists and icon, Anthony Jackson, made a surprise appearance. Steven has mentored numerous guitar talents over the years and has enjoyed performing at various music venues across the Tristate area.

  • Christina Rogers

    A native of Chicago, she began flute studies at nine, joining the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra & Protégé Philharmonic in high school. She earned a BA in Music (Truman State, Kirksville, MO) and MA in Music (NYU). Selling in East Orange, she is the Music Director of Chorus of Communities (Nutley) and choir member and flu test at Holy Innocents Church (West Orange).

  • Haven L Clayborne

    Originally from Buffalo, NY, he has always loved music. He graduated from Arts High and later from Montclair State. He was a Member background singer for elite musicians including Mariah Carey’s 1st album “Vision of Love” (1990). Haven has performed with Mercer Ellington, Duke Anderson, Gretchen Moncur and many other Jazz Greats. He’s performed all over the United States and Japan. He is a Classically trained Flutist, Jazz Musician and Composer in his on right.
